Cool Links for Medical Students
Digital Anatomists for www These people from the University of Washington have really achieved a breakthough in using the WWW for interactively teaching anatomy. Using MRI scans and most importantly computer reconstructions of organs based on cryosections, this site offers a different perspective of the organs you see in the dissection room. In addition, you are interactively quizzed on anatomy, and are provided feedback throughout your visit. Brain atlases (vital for Neuro 200 Winter quarter) and an atlas of the thoracic viscera are currently available.

Virtual Hospital's Radiology Textbooks Very thorough references for topics such as diffuse lung disease, GI, joints, muscle, lung anatomy, and back pain
The Interactive Patient This site is really worth a visit. You get to ask questions, perform a physical exam and diagnose a patient using a very interactive interface.
The Virtual Hospital This is one slick site. It has a lot of good clinical content as well, and the pages and images are all professionally done. Among the features you can choose from are "multimedia textbooks" which are Web pages about everything from lung anatomy to emporiatrics (travel medicine). It also has TONS of patient simulations including sounds and quicktime movies. There is too much in this site to mention here, so Visit this site NOW!!!
Medical Diseases On The Web A very nice and thorough index of Web sites about any and every kind of disease know to man...Nicely organized, it should help you get the latest scoop on the disease your studying (either in pathology or when you're researching topics for your PCM presentations!).

Med World The one-and-only WWW resource a medical student will ever need! It provides medical students with easy access to advice and information about all aspects of the medical training process.

The American Medical Accosiation This is a good place to find out more about what the AMA is doing and to get the latest edition of JAMA on-line. But thats about it. The Medical student section is, well..., pathetic! It really needs work to be of interest to medical students
Geriatric Medicine Primer for Medical Students This is a good starting place to learn about how to deal with older patients and what to look for and be sensitive towards when approching an elderly patient. This site also makes good use of interactive quizes to emphasize important concepts.
Ophthalmology Cases From Massachussettes Eye And Ear This is a good site to get interesting information about recent interesting cases in ophthalmology. Should be of use to a clinical medical student on ophthalmology clerkship.
